snow? in October?
Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007Pensacola never, eva, saw snow. Maybe once, before Al Gore invented global warming and the internet. Seattle saw snow, but it never stayed very long. Dallas snowed once a year. ATL didn’t snow, while I was there.

It’s mid-October, and it’s snowing. (It was when I thought about writing this post.) I’m already in my winter gear, by dirty south standards. Looks like it’s going to be a fun autumn.
Another reason for Christians to hate Harry Potter
Saturday, October 20th, 2007I’m not a big Harry Potter fan. I’ve never read the books, and I think I’m 2 movies behind schedule (or 3), but I thought this was funny/cool that this would happen:
JK Rowling outs Dumbledore as gay
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has revealed that one of her characters, Hogwarts school headmaster Albus Dumbledore, is gay.
Does anybody remember this game?
Saturday, October 20th, 2007Coke Zero came out with a new Fantasy Football tie in. The coolest part are the games. There’s Classic Electronic Football, which my brother informs me was called “Coleco”, the super-hot Retro Electro Football, a.k.a. Electric Football (or Vibrating Football).
And also, check out the intro.
Free T.V. Show/Music Video
Friday, October 12th, 2007Recently, the T.V. show Mad Men didn’t update for about a week, receiving episode 11 the morning before the season finale aired. Today, I got an email from iTunes for a 1.99USD credit for the inconveinence. If you bought the season pass, be on the lookout. If not, you can still buy the season. It’s such a good show, esp. if you’re in the Advertising/Design proffession, as probably most of the people that read this blog are.
**Correction: The season finale is next week, 18 Oct.
In Rainbows
Friday, October 12th, 2007If you haven’t already heard, Radiohead is releasing their latest album online, where you can name your own price. I ended up paying 3USD for the album. (They charge you in Euros, f.y.i.) The album’s alright. Not my favorite Radiohead album, which is still saying a lot, but I love the fact that they are doing this.
RBK Edge Uniforms
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007Recently, I made a failed attempt at creating a jersey to accompany an NHL team logo redesign for my portfolio. Today, I noticed that all NHL teams are changing their sweaters this season. Reebok worked with the NHL to develop a lighter weight jersey that retains less moisture. While all teams are using the new jersey, many teams chose to redesign the jerseys, but none more dramatic than my home team, the Dallas Stars.

The stars went with a more clean, type based design for the sweater, displaying “DALLAS” on the front with the players numbers below and the team logo on the shoulders. They also went back to the old black jerseys, which always looks cooler.
Maybe it’s a good thing that my team jersey was a failure, because I had no idea the jerseys would change so much.

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007Why didn’t I see this on any of the American media websites?
Bush veto for child health bill
US President Bush vetoes a bill to expand a children’s health insurance plan by raising tobacco taxes.
It passed with an overwhelming majority in the Senate, yet it was vetoed.
Well, at least the kids will save money on cigarettes. They’ll need that money to pay for the chemo.
Social Networking
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007I just spent 3 days looking at social networking sites. I acctually learned a lot from it. It’s something I never would have been able to do in school. It was exhastive, yet essential to the process.
I’m still trying to work out the swing of things. Adam pointed out that I’m being very cryptic, but I’ve got to be cautious or I’m in deep. I know I sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist right now, but I’m sure I’ll be able to explain in due time.
I’ll recap the fun/madness this weekend of the last few weeks, if I’m not busy, busy, busy.
